Content Credentials
Content Credentials serve as a collection of information that include editing, attribution, and history details associated with digital content. By attaching these credentials to content upon export or download, creators receive proper recognition and viewers can make informed decisions about trusting the content. Once inspected through specific tools, Content Credentials are available for anyone to view.
Adobe Firefly incorporates non-identifying, minimal Content Credentials to promote transparency for AI-generated content. When users create images using Adobe Firefly or submit them to the Firefly Gallery, these credentials indicating AI generation are included.[1]
Included Information
For images generated in Firefly, Content Credentials include specific details, which are only a part of the more extensive information that can be added using applications like Adobe Photoshop:
- The organization issuing the Content Credentials (In the case of Adobe Firefly, this is "Adobe Inc.")
- A high-level description of content production (For Firefly images, it will state that an AI tool generated the content)
- The tool or software responsible for creating the content (Adobe Firefly, in this instance)
- The particular AI model utilized in content generation
- An overview of the actions and ingredients involved in content production
Content Credentials in Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop currently offers a more comprehensive version of Content Credentials, allowing users to share additional information, including their name (as registered on their Adobe account), social media accounts, and Web3 addresses. Future integration of Content Credentials into other Adobe apps is also planned.
Behance, an online platform, supports Content Credentials and displays them similarly to the Firefly Gallery.
